NASCAR clears Kyle Busch in altercation with Richard Childress ...

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) -- NASCAR president Mike Helton says Kyle Busch did nothing to provoke Richard Childress or violate his probation in an altercation with the 65-year-old car owner after the Trucks Series race at Kansas Speedway.

Helton says Childress will be allowed to stay for Sunday's Sprint Cup race in Kansas because the RCR team needs leadership. But Childress's track access will be restricted, and Helton says NASCAR will announce actions against the owner Monday.

A statement released Sunday by NASCAR called the incident Saturday "unacceptable," adding that Childress's actions fall "far short of the standard we expect of owners."

Busch is on probation through June 15 following a postrace confrontation with RCR driver Kevin Harvick at Darlington.
