When I was working at my last employer, I was looking for a way to store bookmarks so that I could take them home to my own computer. Sure there were social bookmark services like delicious, but I wanted a much simpler and straight-forward solution, so I wrote my own, back in 2007. It?s called Linkmonster. I think of it as a clipboard for bookmarks.

It uses a simple JavaScript Bookmarklet to send the bookmark (URL and title) to a PHP script that stores the bookmark in a simple flat-file database, together with a timestamp.

I?ve stored almost 5000 bookmarks with it by now.

I?ve made a lot of improvements to it yesterday.
