In order to become a Certified Health Insurance Counselor you will need to complete a Core Body of Knowledge Training. This is an 18 hour training, which consists of three-six hour sessions. In this training you will learn the information you will need to effectively assist individuals with health insurance questions. Please note that due to conflicts of interest, persons with an active insurance license are ineligible to volunteer for the program.
Each volunteer is asked to complete a minimum of four volunteer hours per month and that is dependent on the need in the area you are located. Quarterly update trainings will be held to inform volunteers of updated information and demonstrate appreciation for your work!
