Los Angeles clothing maker American Apparel?
has opened a new store in London, the third U.K. shop it has opened this month.The new 2,100 square-foot Westfield London location is the company?s 18th store in the United Kingdom and the fourth store it has opened in Europe in the past year. Earlier this month, American Apparel opened two Selfridges store-in-stores, and last month, it opened a store at the Galeries Lafayette in Lille, France.
The new Westfield London store will sell womenswear and unisex styles, ranging from basics and staple garments to more fashionable pieces and seasonal outerwear.
"Westfield London is one of the largest shopping centers in all of in the United Kingdom and we're thrilled to be there,? Marsha Brady, a creative director for American Apparel, said in a statement. ?We've had great success together in Westfield Malls across the U.S. and opening with them in London will be a significant addition to our foothold there. We're pleased to have the opportunity to serve a new set of customers and expand our offerings for those already shopping at our stores."
American Apparel, which manufactures, distributes and sells branded apparel, has about 11,000 employees and 249 retail stores in 20 countries. It also operates a wholesale business that supplies T-shirts and other casual wear to distributors and screen printers.
