GOAT MAN SPOTTED IN UTAH! | Weekly World News

SALT LAKE CITY ?- ?Goat Man was ?among a herd of wild goats in the mountains of northern Utah has wildlife as?hunting season approaches.

Joe Flanagan of the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources said there have been numerous reports of ?The Goat Man in the past three weeks.

?My first concern is that hunters are going to try to shoot him as a prize to put on their wall. ?We don?t want hundreds of hunters out there killing a half-man, half-goat.?

Flanagan said a man hiking Sunday along Ben Lomond peak in the mountains above Ogden, about 40 miles north of Salt Lake City, spotted the The Goat Man among a herd of real goats. The person provided some blurry photographs to Douglass, who said they did not appear to have been altered. ?The man said that the thought The Goat Man was having sex with one of the herd.

Wildlife officials, with the protection of the Utah National Guard want to talk to The Goat Man man so that he is aware of the fact that he is being hunted. ?They also hope that they can bring The Goat Man in and get him some help at a local zoo (and a local therapist).

?We?ve had hundreds of similar reports over the last few weeks,? Flanagan said. He encouraged people to stay away from Northern Utah. ?There?s a saying we have among biologists ? You don?t go far enough, you don?t get the data. You go too far, you don?t go home. The same is true with some wildlife enthusiasts.?

These goats were accused of ?hiding? their friend, The Goat Man.

Flanagan said 2,060 permits were issued for goat hunting season in that area, which begins in September. He worries The Goat Man might be the ?prize catch.?

?He may get agitated. They?re territorial. ?He is, after all, partly a wild animal,? he said.

Flanagan went on to say, ?I want people to enjoy Utah?s wildlife. We live in a really neat place. We have wildlife all around us and we want people to be safe.?

Unfortunately, the Goat Man attacked a herd of goats, tearing them to shreds last night. ?These are the goats:

The FBI is now involved and it looks like The Goat Man is on America?s Most Wanted List now. ??He?ll be captured and put behind bars, so that citizens in the area will be safe,? said FBI agent, Sasha Malley.

Cool Your Jets With Those Pets (see what i did there?)

Having spent all three of my days off this week addicted to the new pet battle system, I had some insights into the system that have made me seriously worry about the 2 GB tabs I have filled with rare drop pets, holiday pets, etc. Here's why:

1. The addition of all the wild pets is going to make those rare drops LESS desirable to pet battlers. Who cares what the name of the pet is as long as it has rare stats and the same spellbook? From what I have seen of the pets, there will be very few pets with unique or rare spells, and I think the ones with particularly powerful spellbooks will be the expensive ones, which is difficult to gauge at this point. Otherwise, Joe Blow's rare seagull is going to be worth the same as the Hyacinth Macaws I have sitting in my GB, which is to say, not nearly as much as I paid for them.

2. The addition of all the wild pets is going to make those rare drops LESS desirable to achievement hunters. Instead of being one pet out of 100+, it's now 1 out of 400+. Unless you are working for the very top echelon of pet collecting achievements, you probably will just walk outside and grab a pet rather than buy an expensive one. Combine this with the fact that Blizz does not have the pet achievement tuned nearly as tight as, say, the cooking recipe ones, and the outlook doesn't look great. There will still be interest by collectors and those seeking the highest pet achs, but that probably won't translate into any meaningful profits above the inflationary increase.

3. It's too early to tell what pets will truly be expensive. Having spent 3 days battling, it's clear that there will be certain spells that will dominate the game. The key, and what's not clear, will be to figure out not only which spells are dominant, but of those dominant spells which are the most rare, and which pets have them. It is this combination of powerful spell and a lack of viable (i.e. catch-able) alternatives that will really drive the price on pets.

4. It's not to early to tell some pets will be worthless except to collectors. There are some really weak pets out there. Even worse, some pets are not going to make rare status. One set of pets that is not currently being included as rares are the Argent Tourney ones. If this remains the case, it will make stocking up on these an extremely bad investment (bad for me). The only thing that could save the value of an uncommon quality pet would be to have one of the rare, powerful abilities.

Taking all this into account, I am seriously curtailing my pet purchasing. I have discovered a few promising pets that I think will be in demand due to their strength battling, but I have no way to be sure that they won't be nerfed or that there isn't a duplicate pet out there waiting to be caught for free. I'm not going to liquidate at all at this point, but it has become clear to me that this is going to be much more than just--"People will be using pets to collect AND battle, therefore pets will go up." This is going to be a very dynamic market, considering rarity, spell selection and level of the pet. I'm probably going to lose my ass.
